Sony HDR FX1 HDV
Records onto Mini DV Tape
Hire a professional mini DV camcorder. Sony's HDR-FX1, the first HDV 1080i camcorder and the benchmark in video technology available for consumers and prosumers alike, users now have the capability to record and play back high definition video. With 1080 interlaced lines of resolution - the highest resolution (1440 pixels x 1080 lines) of any prosumer camcorder. Manufactured Circa 2004.
Utilizes the 1080 lines horizontal resolution / 60 interlaced frames per second frame rate for the HDV specification, which records to standard MiniDV tapes.
Incorporates three chip, one megapixel Super HAD CCDs. There is also a great developed 16:9 aspect mode for recording in widescreen.

Sony’s High Definition Video camcorder, the HDR-Z1E, is a first in many ways. This camcorder has three CCDs one for each primary colour of light whereby better colour information can be gathered, processed, and recorded than by a single CCD camcorder. The tapes used are the same standard MiniDV ones. DV recording and playback can be performed or the HDV mode utilised which uses MPEG2 to greatly increase the effective bandwidth for video data to HD TV levels.
